FRANK HERR

Source: Waveland Independent, Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana, May 10, 1929

Frank Herr, who lived with his mother, Mrs. Laura Herr 3 and a half miles W. on the New Market road, received fatal injuries when his car was struck by one coming from the north on the crossing of the New Market road and the state highway on Wednesday evening. He lived but 10 minutes. Both cars were badly wrecked. The other car was driven by two Wabash students, Ewolt and Hamlin on their way to Greencastle. This is a dangerous crossing one and has been the scene of several bad accidents. Herr was the principal of the Dover school and was on his way to visit his sister, Mrs. Mary Himes. Funeral services at New Market this afternoon in charge of Rev. WD Headrick. Omer Lough came by before the wreck was cleared up. Waveland Independent Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana May 17, 1929 Frank Herr, whose untimely death was noted last week was under contract as vocational teacher in the Waveland schools. He graduated from Purdue with very high grades and has been a successful teacher. It is certainly a matter for regret that a life with such possibilities of usefulness should be snuffed out in such a needless way. - kbz
